This Sunday sees a major rally in support of Sydney live music venue the Sandringham Hotel (or ‘The Sando’ to the locals). It went into administration after Bankwest foreclosed on mounting debts, and are now forcing its sale. Owner Tony Townsend says the bank’s actions are questionable. Representatives from BankWest and its parent, the Commonwealth Bank, appeared before a senate inquiry in relation to their conduct last week.
Said Rose Tattoo’s Angry Anderson, “I’m not sure what the bank’s game is but I sure wouldn't have picked on The Sando – they’ve got a lot of mates who can make a lot of noise.”
The rally is at Sydney Park, St Peters 12pm to 4pm, where they will also be live music.
