The Canberra Theatre Centre landed property and construction company Hindmarsh as a principal sponsor is kicking in from 2014.
The three year deal is to help kick-start the Centre’s vocational education and training program.
ACT Arts Minister Joy Burch announced the new partnership as the Theatre prepares for its 50th birthday in 2015.
“This program will help the storytellers of tomorrow, giving high school students the chance to learn across all professional aspects of running theatre, in a real theatre environment, with real theatre professionals,” Burch said.
Canberra Theatre Centre Director Bruce Carmichael said, “We are so pleased to have Hindmarsh come onboard with us. This new sponsorship will strengthen the role the Canberra Theatre Centre has in linking grassroots community engagement and the elite side of the performing arts industry.”
